Four ways to book the same crew
Four services split one job seven ways: build it, guide it, teach it, or plan it long.
Every one of these routes back to the same seven people and the same segment logbook. This page lines them up side by side so you can pick the right door in rather than guess from a menu.
Reading this comparison
One crew, four contracts
Two of these are guiding services and two are contracting services, and the split matters more than the mileage. Guided Hikes and Custom Multi-Day Expeditions put a guide from this crew in front of your group on ground they've serviced. Trail Building & Maintenance and Wilderness Navigation Skills are the other two: one puts the crew's tools on your land, the other puts a course in front of a group that wants to learn the skill rather than be led through it.
If four inputs sounds faster than reading four pages, the Trip Fit Checker runs the same triage a guide would run at a trailhead and drops you straight onto the page that fits.
Side by side
What each one is, and who it's for
Nowhere else on the site lines all four up together. Each row links through to its own page with the full item list, pricing basis, and specific terms.
Deciding factors
Three questions that actually sort these four
Do you want to be led, or do you want to learn?
Guided Hikes and Custom Expeditions put a guide in front. Wilderness Navigation Skills does the opposite on purpose: the instructor holds back and lets you make the navigation call, then corrects it. If you'd rather not carry the compass yourself, book a guided trip instead.
Is this about a trip, or about your land?
If nobody is walking your property, it's a contracting question. Trail Building & Maintenance covers tread, drainage, stone steps, and blazing on conservation land and private tracts, priced by the foot, the step, or the mile rather than per person.
One day, or more than one?
Guided Hikes and the navigation clinic run in a day or an evening. A two-day navigation course and Custom Multi-Day Expeditions run longer, and the multi-day traverse specifically assumes six-plus miles a day — not a pace every group is ready for on the first booking.
Not sure yet?
The Trip Fit Checker takes group size, experience, comfortable distance, and what you want out of the trip, and routes you to one of the four pages with a reason attached, not a generic result.
Still between two of these? Call and describe the ground.
Tell us the terrain, the group, or the land, and we'll point you at the right one of the four rather than let you guess from a page.
